Does This Apply To Me?

Probably:
As an employer using non-domestic premises, you will have responsibilities under the new fire safety legislation.

Like What?

You must carry out a Fire Risk Assessment of your Premises.

Why?

Well the legislation says that you have to. It's the law.

I Already Have a Fire Certificate

Since the 1st October 2006, that certificate is no longer valid. You must carry out your own Fire Risk Assessment.

How Do I Do That?

If you take a look at our Fire Risk Assessment Link, you will see what You need to do.

I'm Too Busy For This - I Have a Business To Run

You are legally bound to undertake this assessment - failure to do so can result in a heavy fine and imprisonment

Do I Need To Carry Out a Fire Risk Assessment?

Answer yes to these 2 questions and you do:

  • Do you use your premises commercially?
  • Do people visit your premises e.g Customers, clients, etc

That probably includes you. If it does you must carry out a Fire Safety Risk Assessment and keep the below records, and produce them to the Fire Authorities, or enforcement officer when required.

      • A Fire detection and warning system - maintenance contract/records log
      • A Fire fighting equipment - maintenance contract/records log
      • An Emergency lighting - maintenance contract/records log
      • An Evidence of electrical installation inspection and testing log
      • An Evidence of portable appliance testing log
      • A Staff training – induction & annual refresher log
      • An Evacuation drills log
      • An Emergency Plan
      • A Staff Training Schedule
      • Your Fire Risk Assessment
      • A Significant Findings Report along with actions and control measures identified

You will need all of the above to comply with the new legislation

This is not a choice - it is the law

We can provide you with all the above, which are generated from out simple online questionnaire. All you need do is answer the yes / no questions we have formulated, and we do all the rest for you.

Your submission is reviewed by our fire risk trained staff, and a full risk assessment is provided for you. We will give you indications of the areas of highest risk, along with suggested actions you may wish to take to reduce those risks.

Leaving you to get on with the running of your own business
